Sub:-Summer Vacation from 25.05.09
We wish to inform you that the summer vacation will be from 28.05.09 to 19.07.09. The school will reopen for all classes on 20.07.09. If any holiday is declared on 20.07.09 the school will reopen on 21.07.09. During the vacation the school office will function from 8.00 am to 1.0 pm five days a week (Saturday to Wednesday).

Sub: Dar al Atta's Let's Read committee is organising the 3rd Children's writing competition. The theme is 'Traditional Tales'.

Students aged 9 years and above can participate by rewriting a traditional tale from the country of their birth or choice but change the story in some way (eg.Put it into modern setting, reverse character's roles, turn tragedy into comedy, change the ending of the story etc.) and create an illustrated front cover. Stories should be 500 words or less. Illustrated front cover (max. A4size) should be attached to the story and clearly marked with the title of the story., students's name, Class & section, age and name of school on the cover itself. Details of the story's origin also appreciated (eg Author, Country etc) Closing date for entries - Saturday 14th March 2009.

Dear Parent

Dar al Atta is organizing a 'Let's Read Campaign' They are inviting children to come and join them for 'Story Time and A Children's used Book Sale' on Thursday 19th February 2009 from 2.30pm to 3.30 pm at Jawharat Al Shatti Complex.

Children are requested to take along a book (the can take their own book or can take a book from the school office from Mr Mani from the old stock books lying the store, free of cost) for the used book sale in order to gain entry to this event. Used book sale is from 3.3. pm to 5.30 pm at the same venue and all the proceeds will go for the disadvantaged children.

Sub: Closing of cash counter for year end on 31.03.2009 & 01.04.2009

Please note that due to year-end database and software maintenance procedures cash counter is closed at 12.00 noon on 31.0.09 and remains closed on 01.04.09. Normal cash counter hours will resume from 02.04.09.

Kindly note that progress reports and results of students, whose fee is due will be with eld. Hence make sure to clear outstanding fees, if any, before 12.00 noon of 30.03.09.

*The Price list of Books and Stationery will be available with the class teacher on 31st March 2009.
*Textbooks stationery will not be sold after 5th April 2009. Hence, the parents are requested to purchase the said items on the stipulated dates.
*The cost of the books & stationery may be paid to the teacher in charge in the specified class room in exchange for a manual receipt. Printed receipts for the same amount will be issued on a later date.
