Sub : Written Quiz for class 7,8,9,10,11 & 12 students to train them in money management through ‘Young Bull Money Challenge – 2012’

Young Bull Money challenge is an event to train high school students in better money management. It is designed in the form of a competition, so as to make it fun and interesting for the students.

Students learn the basics of handling money wisely, the importance of saving, the role of banks, financial institutions, the precautions to be taken in ATM centres, online security, precautions while using social networking sites, the importance of investing, the do’s and don’ts of investing, basic concepts of shares, mutual funds, gold ETF, insurance etc.

All the enrolled students get a workbook called ‘Moneyskills for Life’ which explains in simple language the basics of money management. The workbook has lessons, worksheets, activities, stories, examples etc which teach everyday finance in a fun way to students. The students have to do the activities with the help of their parents at home.

The exam will be conducted in the school. The registration fee is RO 5/- the exam is schedule for the 2nd week of October. The test will be in English with 50 multiple choice questions to be completed in 45 mins. There will be no negative markings.

Water Society Art competition

Dear Parents,

Oman water society, under the auspices of Public Authority for Electricity and Water has extended its invitation to Indian schools to participate in a drawing contest for classes VI-X.
Theme
 Water conservation, Make sure that water message is clear in your drawing. Colourful, bold, bright and brilliant drawings standout.
Rules
  1. The competition is open to students of classes VI to X.
  2. Entries should be an individual effort and it should be original work.
  3. Each entry should carry the following information in English and in Block letters, at the back of the drawing
  • Name
  • Surname
  • Grade
  • School Name
  1. Entries will not be returned. The copyright of all entries will rest with Oman water society.
  2. Drawing entries will be accepted in various media including crayons, marker, paint, pencil, pastels, water colours and sketch pens. The size of each entry should be A 3 size white drawing paper. Artwork must be drawn horizontally i.e. landscape format (vertical artwork will not be accepted).
Last Date. Last date for submission of entries to Class Teacher is 20th June 2012.

Dear Parents,

Sub : Al Isra’a Wal Miraj Holiday

The Govt has declared holiday for the private sector on Saturday, 16th June 2012 on the occasion of the blessed anniversary of Al Isra’a Wal Miraj. Hence the holiday given in the school calendar for 17th June 2012 may be treated as amended to the above mentioned date. The Unit test for XI and XII scheduled for 16th June 2012 will now be held on 17th June 2012 instead.
The school will reopen on Sunday, 17th June 2012.

ASSET examination 2013

Dear Parents,

The  school will conduct Assessment of Scholastic Skills through Educational Testing (ASSET) for classes III to X between 10th Jan 2013 and 17th Jan Jan 2013. The date sheet for the exam will be announced later. The fee for the test is RO 7.000 for English, Maths and Science (Classes III to X) and RO 3.000 each for Hindi (Classes IV to VIII) and Social Studies (Classes V to X).

ASSET is a unique test that checks the depth of students’ understanding on every topic. The test consists only of multiple choice questions and provides feedback on students’ vocabulary levels, their ability to comprehend texts in varied formats, apply the concepts taught in real life situations and develop a love for learning and understanding new things.

All students will receive a Certificate and the ASSET My book. ASSET My book is a personalized instructional material for each student based on the results. It contains the detailed result highlighting the student’s strengths and weaknesses, practice questions along with the explanations and answers for the concepts that the student is weak in.
