To strengthen academics, cover up syllabus early and to focus on studies, the annual day for senior section will not be organised this year. However, some performances from senior section will be considered during sports day celebration in January / February 2015.
In future we may have annual exhibition and annual day celebrations either alternate years and / or class / section wise.

·         There will be regular classes for Classes III – V
B)    WEDNESDAY, 10^TH DECEMBER 2014 (FINAL REHEARSAL FOR CLASS III – V ONLY PARTICIPANTS)
·         There will be no regular classes.
·         Only participants shall be in school for final rehearsal from 7:40 am to 2:10 pm. Others will not come to school.
·         Transport arrangements to be done by parents. School bus will ply on the regular routes.
·         All participants must bring their tiffin and water bottle.Students must come in grey school uniform.
C)    THURSDAY, 11^TH DECEMBER 2014 - ANNUAL DAY (CLASS III – CLASS V)
·         There will be no regular classes.
·         All the participants and volunteers should report to their teacher-in-charge at 4:30 pm.
·         Transport arrangements to be done by parents. School bus will ply on the regular routes.
·         All participants must bring their tiffin and water bottle.
General Instructions:-
·         All the parents of the participants are requested to ensure punctuality in dropping and picking.
·         Small children should be kept with the parents, and not allowed to go near the stage.
·         Private photography/video-coverage by parents is not allowed.
·         Parents may park their vehicles in the open ground in front of the new building. ROP officials will be on duty. Parking in front of the Omani houses is strictly prohibited.
·         Participants must come dressed in their costumes and with light make-up.
·         Parents are requested to collect their children from the entrance of the Old block after half an hour of their respective item.

Exhibition -14

The theme "SPECTRUM 2014" was clearly justified in the exhibits and the overall MOOD of the children along with the teachers. A model of India's Mission Mars "Mangal yaan" greeted the visitors on the entrance and the lamp with with florals. Names of the subjects displayed on the entrance of each room, thus enabling to choose which room one was entering. The children and volunteers were energetic and narrating their well rehearsed script fluently.
There were some spectacular exhibits in all rooms, Particular among them were Water harvesting models, Jaws of shark, Structure of a Cell, Turtle skeleton, Working model of Seismograph, Riddles, Puzzles, Cubes, Formulae for calculating ur age, creating ILLUSIONS, CORALS, The idea of INCLUSIVE class room, Live characters straight from English Stories ( My Fair Lady, Tempest etc.) walking across, Lava breathing Volcanoes etc are only few of them.....FLOOR arts section was amazing with RANGOLI / ALPANA with grated Coconut, flowers, Rice flour,, etc......

Arts section as always had all art forms including paper plates, spoons turning them into useful things, Papier mache and a LIVE canvas artist on his work.....

Augmented Reality was a treat to watch...and new concept to most parents..
Commerce section was educational though not interactive..

हिन्दी कक्ष में विद्यार्थियों ने अलंकारों एवं कवियों के जीवन के पल व दोहों पर आधारित पहलियों द्वारा अभिभावकों को अचंभित कर दिया। काश कि संस्कृत का भी एक अपना कोना होता। !!!! सभी शिक्षकों, विद्यार्थियों का परिश्रम सफल हुआ। हार्दिक अभिनंदन, आशा है भविष्य में इस से भी उच्च स्तर का प्रदर्शन होगा...........

I hope next year the rooms are more spacious and the time of exhibition is stretched a little further here or there...

They should come in grey school uniform with black leather shoes. They will again come to school at 4:15 pm in grey school uniform with black shoes and report to their teacher-in-charge.

· Students may carry their tiffin and water bottle.

· Dispersal: 12:00 noon & 9:00 pm. Note :- Holiday for Class XII.

C) Friday. 31st October 2014

· Only participants, school cabinet members and selected boys scouts / volunteers should be in school from 4:00 pm in grey school uniform with black shoes and report to their teacher-in-charge. Dispersal: 08:30 pm.

KHO KHO Tournament - CBSE Oman Cluster

ISS Sports department had the honour of Hosting CBSE, Oman Cluster KHO-KHO tourament 2014 at Sohar. This is the second time the school got this honour...Teams travelled from as far as Salalah to participate...

Indian School Salalah Girls emerge champions as they beat Indian School Sohar (Girls). Sohar girls were reigning champions for last 3 years CONSECUTIVELY !!

Indian School Salalah won the Boys tournament also.....CONGRATULATIONS for the teams who won and all those who made it so far to make the tournament worth watching !!!

CBSE 12th grade results: Indian School Sohar breaks record in AISSCE

Muscat: The exuberance of success was visible in the Indian School Sohar premises. The Indian School Sohar has proved its class in the All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (12th Class) conducted by CBSE in March, 2014, producing the best ever result.

All the 69 students who took the examination this year, 53 in the Science stream and 16 in the Commerce stream, were successful — achieving a 100 per cent success for the school. Sushanti Ritraj with 95.6 per cent stands as the topper in the school, closely followed by Hetanxi Hemant Singadia with 93 per cent in the second position and Shivani Pandey with 91.8 per cent in the third position.

T V Pavithra was the top scorer in English with 96 per cent marks, while 48 students out of 69 scored 90 per cent and above. In Mathematics 14 students scored above 95 per cent while 17 students scored above 90, in Physics, Sushanti Ritraj was the top scorer with 95 per cent; in Chemistry Shivani Pandey topped with 95 per cent while 6 students scored above 90 per cent; in Biology, Krishnendu Menon scored 96 while 7 students scored above 90 per cent; in Informatics Practices Sushanti Ritraj was the top achiever with 99 per cent marks while 33 students scored above 90 per cent.

The school has produced its first batch in Commerce stream with a 100 per cent pass. Alphonso Delisia Leslie with 88.2 per cent, stands as the topper closely followed by Hajwani Amra Riyaz with 84 per cent and Salina Salim with 81.8 per cent in the second and third position respectively.

Members of the School Managing Committee and Principal Sanchita Verma congratulated the students on their spectacular performance. They also appreciated the staff for their sincere team effort and the parents for their extensive support. The result reflects the thrust given to the academics, conducting special classes for the students who needed special care and guidance.

Most parents and toppers mentioned that their achievement was a result of the consistent teaching performance and dedication of the senior teachers and the futuristic vision of the Principal

USED CLOTHES DONATION DRIVE

Dear ALL... The ISS Students on the call of the Principal Mrs Sanchita Verma, Today collected used (WASHED & IRONED) clothes for donation to unprivileged people....The Response was HUGE and the Principal herself was overwhelmed by the encouragement of parents ...The boxes in and around the school were not enough...The students had to be transported AROUND Sohar TOWN to drop them in other boxes.......CHEERS for all the effort and may this spirit of sharing and giving LIVE forever...

Level 1: Date - Thursday 3rd April 2014 & Friday 4th April 2014 and Fee - RO 16

Mobile Robotics Workshop (For VI to XII Standard Students): It is a two days workshop in which students will learn to design 3 different robot i.e. Manual Robot, Line Follower & Mobile Controlled Robot. Annual Sports Day 2014

You are cordially invited to the 21st Annual Sports Day on Tuesday, 4th February 2014 at 4.00PM at Sohar Sports Stadium. Please be seated by 3:45 pm.

Monday 03/02/2014

There will be no regular classes. It w ill be a holiday for non-participants.
All the participants of races, relays,March past. Pom Pom drill, Ball drill and Welcome song will directly come to Sohar sports Stadium by 7:45 am for rehearsals and other preparations.
Students will not bring books but should bring tiffin, water bottle and cap.
Dispersal will be from Sohar Sports Stadium at 12:05 PM for KG and 2:00 pm for the rest of the classes.
The entry will be from Gate no.6 of Sohar Sports Stadium.

Tuesday 04.02.2014

All participants should reach Sohar Sports Stadium at 3:00 PM. They should bring the costumes for their races and other respective item as instructed by the concerned teachers.
For March past (Senior) and Volunteers, the dress will be white uniform with white P.T. shoes.
Students participating in various races (Middle & senior) should wear black shorts (for boys) and black short / slacks (for girls) and plain T shirts of their respective house colour.
Student council members to come in white uniform white P.T. shoes, red Tie and Navy blue/black blazers.

The dresses should be neat and clean and ironed. The shoes should be washed and polished. All students should bring tiffin,water bottle and cap. All participants to enter the stadium from Gate No. 6.

Please note that Class XI will have pre-final exams as per schedule and Class XII will have CBSE Practical exams as per schedule.
Wednesday 05.02.2014 will be holiday for Classes LKG-XI.

Reporting Time : 7:40 am, Entry of Candidates in the rooms :7:45 am, Reading Time : 8:15 am to 8:30 am. Writing Time : 8:30 to 10:30 am.
Students should leave school by 10:45 am
Candidates should mark their answers with Blue / Black Ball Point Pen only.
Students will have to make their own transport arrangements.
